At the age of 22, I began to pursue my passion of nurturing the elderly and children with disabilities. I volunteered at Razi Hospital in Tehran, Iran while studying towards my masters degree in Clinical Psychology. For my thesis, I focused on depression in the elderly and implemented Wechsler and DAP tests.
After migrating to Canada in 2000, I began my studies in Sleep Medicine, which is a subset of psychology. Before long, I was a Registered Sleep Medicine Technologist involved in a vast research project and during this time, I worked 3.5 years with Allied Health Canada for research to approve” xyrom “a medication for Narcolepsy.
I also worked and conducted research in the psychiatric department of “Brain & Sleep Diagnostic Center” and “Appleton Sleep Centre” in Toronto, under the supervision of Dr.Morton Mamelak and the great Dr. Sherwood Appleton, who provided me with invaluable opportunities in the field of Sleep Medicine. Thanks to him, I conducted research on Narcolepsy then Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Working closely with patients and learning about the nuances of these diseases, I searched for various treatments to reduce my patients’ suffering. This is when I discovered Holistic Medicine, namely Homeopathy and amazing Acupuncture, which work beautifully to treat patients holistically and not as a series of generic and fragmented symptoms.
Once in the world of Holistic Medicine, I began to explore various modalities within the discipline and was amazed to see how wonderfully they complimented my work with Sleep Medicine and psychology. While working in sleep medicine, I studied Homeopathy at the Ontario College of Homeopathic
Medicine (OCHM) and Acupuncture at the Canadian College of Holistic Health (CCHH) 2004-2008, Since Acupuncture and Homeopathy professions regulated in Canada, I became a Registered Acupuncturist by 2013 and have combined my skill and knowledge to provide Holistic Treatment to the patients.
As I move forward and study online to get (Ph.D)degree Counselling psychology USA and Canada. I tried to improve my background knowledge and intend to do more research in Holistic Healing and Sleep Medicine because I do believe that Mental, emotional issues will cause physical problem. My goal is to help those around me live happy Safe and healthy lives.
